This was the first video that I ever made using iMovie (or any software). I focused on the issues surrounding youth and the Internet - namely, identity formation, cyberbullying, and anonymity. The majority of the time I spent completing tasks that I was already comfortable with: researching and writing the script. The rest of my time was focused on learning how to edit audio files, mix in music, and edit images and videos to suit the needs of the script. While not a particularly compelling video to watch, it did provide me with a foundational challenge and appreciation for the amount of time videos take to produce.

This collaborative project guides the user through discussion points and activities in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. My experience creating this media study guide was challenging because of my initial image of what the end result should look like: to the detriment of full collaboration and deeper thinking, I became carried away with design and aesthetics. Conversely, I gained a solid appreciation for the power and complexity of integrating new media into the classroom, and how different media can lend itself to different uses and projects.
